The National Weather Service provides accurate, up-to-date conditions, forecasts, satellite imagery, radar maps, and more. Many other sites you might use probably get their information from the National Weather Service so why not go strait to the source. In addition to current conditions, weather.gov offers all sorts of information about ground conditions, from brush fires to wind advisories. This data is incredibly complete, and most of all it is useful!

I like using this page because of how easy it makes it to track high/low pressure systems. Along with that you can see where the fronts are and what direction they are moving in. It also shows isobars so you can see how fast the wind is moving based on how close the bars are in certain areas. All around a great resource, and I check it everytime before I post a blog.

This site is another great resource for analyzing wind direction and speed. It allows you to see where it's going, and maybe even more importantly, where it's coming from. You can also analyze where the center of the high/low pressure systems are by the patterns this map generates. This site makes great use of our weather stations and is a tool I know any up-and-coming meteorologist could appreciate.

This site has a lot of good information on our local Eau-Claire weather. You can look at current trends in temperature, precipitation, and barometric pressure which really makes writing blogs easy! It's good to have a reliable source for your weather so close to home.

The Geostationary Satellite maps offer useful information on water vapor, visible patterns, and infra-red imagery. By using these maps we can piece together information and see the big picture.

I like using wunderground because it provides quick and reliable information about our local area weather. It has everything I need to make quick and accurate weather predictions with temperature, dew point, humidity, wind direction, and much more.

Unisys provides accurate sound diagrams from monitoring stations across the country. It's very helpful when I need to find more descriptive information then a regular forecast might give.

Accuweather is a good site for finding descriptive weather images. I like using their illustrations in my posts because they explain everything from jet stream patterns, temperatures, storm systems, and much more. They have new images everyday for that days forecast which I thought was really neat. You can tell they care about their weather forecasts, and they also offer daily news of weather around the US.
